Snippets, Semantics and the Web 3.0: structured and meaningful Data in Online Travel Marketing and Technology

The question of structure and semantics of travel and tourism related data becomes more and more interesting in the face of the rapidly increasing amount of information available in the World Wide Web. Every travel company has to develop a strategy how to manage and present these amounts of information. A first step could be to give them a defined structure and the next could be to give them also a meaning. The presentation will give a survey on the status and perspectives of the application of semantic technologies in tourism and travel related websites.
